It’s been absolutely amazing to watch the swarm of honeybees, ants, and hummingbirds feeding on our giant 30′ tall flowering agave. Here’s an updated photo of the blessed event from yesterday. This weekend’s final summer open house is the last chance to see it in person.
Do all varieties of giant agaves have blooms like this ? I have some baby giant agave that I have in pots right now that I’m getting ready to plant in the fall. I love the blooms you show here.
Not all agaves flower this tall. Some agaves flower along spikes, while the one flowering now flowers on large panicles…hence the term, paniculate.
Do you have a very long trailer?
I would do anything for this dried bloom. Is there any way I could have or buy after it is dried and cut down???
