2024 marks a significant change for us at Juniper Level Botanic Garden, with a number of exciting changes on the way, starting January 1.
After 5 years of background work, we are pleased to launch our new JLBG Membership program. Anyone joining in 2024, will be forever memorialized as a Founding Member of JLBG, showing your support for the garden preservation.
This critical funding source will allow JLBG to continue our ex-situ plant conservation work, by funding travel, garden staffing, and allowing us to expand our educational efforts.
Membership benefits will include an expanded selection of garden tours, access to the joint JLBG/JCRA Index Seminum (garden seed list), member only plants, access to our new quarterly members newsletter, and more. Details will be published at JLBG.org on January 1.
Speaking of the JLBG website, we’ve been feverishly working behind the scenes for months on a dramatically expanded and modernized JLBG website, we think you’ll really enjoy. The depth of information and photography, and the improved organization will hopefully make this somewhere you visit often.
Finally, we will be hosting our first JLBG Endowment Fundraiser on June 14, 2024 from 3 – 8pm at Tony and Anita’s home garden, adjacent to JLBG. Each ticket will include a walking dinner in the garden. The number of available tickets will be limited.
This 4 acre private section of the gardens have never been open to the public. It is our intention for this to be the first of an annual fundraising event. All income goes directly to the JLBG operational endowment at NC State University. Tickets will go on sale January 1, and you fill find the link at the new JLBG.org. Tony and the garden staff will be on hand to chat with visitors, as will the NC State Endowment staff, along with local award-winning modernist architect, Frank Harmon, who designed Tony and Anita’s home.
