One of my favorite wild gingers is the dwarf evergreen Asarum takaoi ‘Roundabout’. This is one of the few evergreen asarum that’s hardy into Zone 4. Asarums looks especially fine as their new foliage emerges in spring, as you can see in the photo from here at Juniper Level Botanic Garden.

Hosta ‘Spartacus‘ has to be one of my all-time favorite hostas, both for appearance and for great vigor in the garden. Here’s a shot from the nursery of the giant plants we ship…or you can pick them up at open house starting Friday. Instant clumps!
Another real winner from our coral bells trial is Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach’…just don’t plant it in shade. We’ve got this growing in sun for over half a day, while the plants we planted in shade just sulked.

Yucca torreyi is flowering in the garden now…so spectacular. This is one of those plants that we just couldn’t get people to purchase when we offered it, so we discarded the remainder of our crop last year…what a shame. We could always be convinced to propagate more if folks show it some love!
We’re really proud of how good a crop of Cypripedium orchids we have for sale this year. Julie and our growing staff have done a superb job. These should be in full flower for open house as well! We are still amazed how well these have grown for us here in the gardens at Juniper
