2026 marks 40 years, since we began the now, world-renown gardens at JLBG. Whether you’re a regular open house visitor, or someone who hasn’t stopped by in a while, we hope you’ll join us to celebrate our Ruby Anniversary. We have two weekends remaining for our spring public open days, so we look forward to seeing you. Despite some well-needed rain during the first spring weekend, we still had visitors from across the US, and as far away as Israel. The gardens continue to grow and evolve, and our garden staff continues to do an exceptional job maintaining the plantings. There are 10 acres of gardens open to the public, along with six greenhouses, where you can purchase plants, so be sure to allow enough time. In the gardens, there are an amazing number of plants in flower, including 15 spiking agaves (century plants).
Our remaining spring dates are May 8-10 and 15-17, both from 9am-5pm. There is no charge to visit the gardens, and the $5 parking fee is completely refundable with an on-site plant purchase. We also have two free Gardening Unplugged talks each day, along with a food truck for lunch. You can find our talk and food truck schedule here. We hope you’ll load up your car with your gardening friends, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
