After having the same personalized plate for over 45 years, it was finally time to turn our faded, unreadable tag to the Motor Vehicles office, in exchange for a new one, which recently arrived. In NC, much of the income from personalized plates goes to an array of efforts including highway beautification and plant preservation. How about your state? How many other gardeners celebrate their love of horticulture via their vehicle license? Of course, it’s hard to go incognito with such a recognizable plate.

Here in KS the costs of personalized plates is very discouraging. So I would never do it. Even the ones that had some of the state’s universities backgrounds on the plates were still very expensive. I like yours!
In NC, our plates are made by the women’s prison, so perhaps that keeps the cost down.
I’m from the UK. Your number plate makes me very jealous! We can only have a combination of letters and numbers here. A maximum of eight. My wife and I both garden – for over 40 years – perhaps WE GARDEN would be appropriate!

Here is a copy of my license plate and bumper sticker. I had to leave out one letter L from “trillium” since they only let me use up to seven letters on the license plate.
