Shades of Silver

Two of the lovely silver-foliaged clones of the tropical Agave desmettiana are looking quite lovely in our container display this summer. The first is Agave desmettiana ‘Quicksilver’ with a narrow green border, and below is Agave desmettiana ‘Silver Moon’, with a narrow white border. Agave desmettiana is one of the most highly prized of the the agave species for landscaping in tropical climates, and for containers in cold winter climates. It’s both easy and quick to grow, and lacks any marginal teeth. Both plants are fairly sparse off-setters, hence these clones may be a challenge to acquire. We do have ‘Silver Moon’ in production and hope to have enough to share in a couple of years.
