We hope you can join us for our upcoming 2024 Summer Open Garden and Nursery, July 12-14 and 19-21. The garden is looking absolutely fabulous, with an incredible array of plants to see and design ideas to borrow. Our experts are scattered throughout the garden and nursery to answer your gardening questions. Summer open house is also when we have our annual Opuntia (prickly pear) cactus pad giveaway. We’ll be here from 9-5pm each day (rain or shine), and we hope you’ll find time to visit and walk around the garden. In addition, our on-site nursery, Plant Delights will be open for walk in purchases.
2024 marks a significant year in the life of the gardens at Juniper Level. Our botanical operations have grown beyond the capacity of the nursery to solely and adequately to fund all the work we do. With this in mind, we created a new garden membership program. Garden membership provides a critical support system to preserve, nurture, maintain, label, and expand the garden, preserve endangered plants, and help retain our talented, diverse staff.
Over the next few years as Tony slows down and eventually becomes compost, it will be necessary to transition to a new business model. In order to continue our legacy of conservation through propagation and as the only source for so many new and rare plants, we will continue nursery operations with shipping available only to our members. We hope you’ll go ahead and consider membership now to help with this transition.
While garden membership is first and foremost, a way for you to support the garden, it’s not without additional benefits. Depending on your membership level, membership entitles you to special member only plants, rare seed from the garden, special member only tours, advance registration opportunities, discounts on in person and on-line programs, and our quarterly members only newsletter. In a few months, we hope to launch our reciprocal garden program for admission to botanic gardens and arboretum across the country.
While we were thrilled to have such an incredible crowd at our past spring open house. We hope you’ll remember that it is you, who fund the garden with both plant purchases and as members. We cannot do this without your continued support.
Those who join this year will forever be recognized as a founding member for your vision and support. To find out more about becoming a member, click here. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
