I’ll bet most folks haven’t heard of Ammocharis coranica…your loss. We grew this amazing crinum lily relative for years before we saw it in the wilds of South Africa, where it grew in roadside ditches along a small section of our route. Here’s a photo from the gardens today…it thrived though our brutal NC winter. Full to part sun and decent drainage…darn easy to grow and one of my all-time favorite bulbs. How far north will it grow? We really don’t know past 0 degrees F.
Just beautiful! Would you plant the bulbs in Fall or Spring? What time of year does it bloom and when does it stop blooming?I am in zone 7 Thanks.
For us, spring bloom is heaviest, but we get good rebloom through the summer. Planting is fine anytime the ground isn’t frozen.
