On of the exciting new plants in the 2018 catalog is the first commercial variegated hardy perennial hibiscus. Hibiscus ‘Summer Carnival’ was developed by our friend Hans Hansen. I can still recall the moment I first laid eyes on this beauty…truly love at first sight. The variegation runs up the stem, into the leaves, and even into the flower buds. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do. Mature size is 42″ tall x 5′ wide, and hardiness ranges from Zone 4a-9b.
Lovely!
Does it get sunburned and the white/pink turn brown? It’s very pretty, and I will probably get one. 🙂

No. I took this photo in late August, where the plant grew in a wide open field with absolutely no shade.
WOW I love it
Greatest I love it love
Is this rose of Sharon?
Rose of sharon is woody and this is a perennial…first cousin.
Just received 3 from Plant Delights and they are in lovely shape on July 12th, 2019. I have been so obsessed with collecting unusual and new varieties of hardy hibiscus this year and have some real beauties. Still trying to make space to plant them all. I just love them. My neighbor had a couple when we moved into our house 25 years ago and I have some I have grown since then, but my true obsession began last summer and has increased. I will update and submit pictures when they grow and flower. Cannot wait.
