The old British wartime quote could certainly apply to the beautiful Campsis grandiflora ‘Morning Calm’. This J.C. Raulston introduction is a summer flowering machine. We have long been fascinated by this amazing Asian (China, Japan) vine, a sister to the misbehaving North American native trumpet creeper, Campsis radicans. While I appreciate Campsis radicans in the wild, I would never plant one on the garden, despite it being native. It’s Asian counterpart, on the other hand, is a very well-behaved garden plant.

In your experience, does it ever attach itself to support structures or does it always need to be completely tied to them?
We have it against a lattice, which works great for this type of vine with no tying needed
What size are the flowers?
Around 2.5″ each
