Mt. Everest – an easy Garden Climb

Last year, we posted a garden photo of the amazing new Galanthus ‘Mt. Everest’, which came to us as a Galanthus elwesii selection from Holland. We now think it is most likely a hybrid between Galanthus elwesii and Galanthus plicatus, first prompted by the assessment from Patrick McMillan. Below is it in full glory, starting in mid-January. We loved this so much, we’ve potted a few for the 2026 on-line catalog, in hopes that others will find this as outstanding as we do.

  1. Lovely! Is the nursery/botanic garden doing any work with Galanthus? I’d imagine some new colors à la radiation could help the galanthophiles across the pond…

    1. Sadly, we already have too many plant projects to add galanthus, but hopefully someone there are several folks already working with the genus.
