Who goes there?

To paraphrase the late Carl Sandburg, “The fog comes on big cat feet. It sits on the greenhouse on silent haunches and then moves on.” Sure enough, we arrived at work last week to discover that a bobcat had traversed the top of one of our greenhouses. Through the years, we’ve had several animals that thought it would be amusing to walk the greenhouse ridges. These past critter intrusions included squirrels, our pet cats, foxes, but this is our first bobcat. Fortunately, we keep extra rolls of greenhouse patching tape on hand for emergencies like this. We didn’t see the cat, but two weeks earlier, staff spotted one on the property.
