One of our fabulous southeast native shrub mints is in superb flower today in the cold frames at Plant Delights…Conradina canescens ‘Gray Ghost’…very easy to grow in well-drained soils, and hot sunny sites. The leaves are minty strong!

In case you were watching the weather last night, two tornados touched down within a couple of minutes of the nursery…one 5 minutes south, and another 3 minutes north. Fortunately damage to homes and property was minimal and the tornados weren’t on the ground when they passed over PDN…whew!

We keep our potted tibouchina plants in the cold frames over winter, where the leaves take on this incredible pink coloration when exposed to cooler temperatures. Where tibouchina isn’t winter hardy outdoors, it makes an incredible house plant for a cooler room in the house.
