Sinningia ‘Pink Pockets’ was a Plant Delights/JLBG introduction in 2011…a hardy gesneriad that had thrived in our in ground trials. Here it is this week, planted in 2005 and still performing superbly in part sun. We love plants that stand the test of time in the garden.

My daughter bought this for me last year at one of your Open Houses and it has performed beautifully in my zone 8 coastal garden in Emerald Isle, NC.
So glad to hear…thanks for the report.
I received the pictured plant as an unidentified gift. It was blooming at the time. The flowers are very similar to the “Pink Pockets” Sinningia. Mine has leaves that have slightly lighter green veining and the leaf edges on mine seem a little more jagged. There is what looks like another unopened bud about an inch below the flower. Could you identify my plant?
Same family, different genus. Your plant is most likely Chirita sinensis, a low elevation tropical gesneriad, native to Guangdong, China.
