Looking great in the garden is month is Hosta ‘Tears in Heaven’, a unique-looking favorite, from the breeding work of plantsman Hans Hansen, of Walters Gardens. While hostas with long, pointed leaves never sell nearly as well as those with round leaves, we find them much more interesting to use in the garden, from a design perspective. We also have a unique appreciation for the years of breeding it took to create such a unique look.

Is this a sport or progeny of ‘Pewterware’ or ‘Blue Jay’? Is this a sport or progeny of ‘Touch of Class’; does this coincidentally have a double layer of wax?
All three have some Hosta x tardiana in their background. It does have a very thick wax coating, albeit unmeasured.
