Amorphophallus (Voodoo Lily)

The JLBG collection includes about 52 species, 20 undetermined, 26 nothospecies; 569 clones

Our collection contains amorphophallus species, species selections, and hybrids that have been winter hardy for us at JLBG (Zone 7b/8a). We have been performing winter hardiness trials on the genus Amorphophallus since the late 1980s. We currently grow 21 species and 7 nothospecies that have proven winter hardy from our trials. We feature an array of hybrids from the late Alan Galloway, Cyrille Claudel, and Derek Carwood, as well as many of our own creation.  At one time, we had one of the two largest amorphophallus collections in the world, but we subsequently donated most of the tropical species to some of the country's top botanic gardens.
