Ophiopogon (Mondo Grass)

The JLBG collection includes about 19 species with 4 varieties, 29 undetermined: 124 clones

The genus Ophiopogon consists of more than 82 species of perennial grassy looking herbs in the Asparagaceae. New species are being descibed annually as more of Southeastern Asia is being botanized, much like in the related genus Aspidistra and Peliosanthes. This genus is native from India east to Japan and south to Malaysia.
